Recently, 42-year-old Selina Jen (任家萱) mentioned in an interview that she still wants a second child, but will focus on natural pregnancy. If fate allows and her body can endure, she will strive to conceive until menopause.
It’s undeniable that Selina truly loves children. At Ella Chen‘s (陳嘉樺) concert, Selina, wearing a mask and holding flowers, made a surprise appearance. Ella jokingly said that nine years ago on stage, she wished for Selina to get pregnant and have children, though at that time it was with her former husband. Additionally, Ella revealed that Selina is eager to have a second child, leading her to lead the audience in wishing Selina success with her second child.
In a post-childbirth interview, Selina appeared visibly fuller and radiated a maternal glow. She shared that parenting is beautiful, and every day is blissful. Feeling that one child might be too few, she hopes to have a second or even a third child in the future.
Selina mentioned her desire for a second child just seven months after giving birth, which quite startled her boyfriend, Xiao Xu (小徐). When asked about changes, Selina mentioned her reluctance to go to work, finding her child too adorable to leave. Throughout the interview, Selina was all smiles and enthusiastically shared snippets of her son’s life, her words filled with happiness and sweetness, truly feeling healed by her child and Xiao Xu.
Xiao Xu is actually Selina’s second partner. Although they are not married, they live as a couple and have a lovely child together. Previously, Selina mentioned in an interview that she hadn’t considered remarrying. If Xiao Xu were to propose on his knees, she would agree but wouldn’t register the marriage. Selina’s progressive views on love have been accepted by her boyfriend.
Selina chose Xiao Xu because he offered substantial emotional support. On a variety show, Selina shared Xiao Xu’s perspective on her burns. Due to skin graft surgeries, Selina’s skin is patchy. Knowing that Selina loves mermaids, Xiao Xu commented that Selina’s legs, with their patchy skin, resembled mermaid scales, as if a mermaid had grown legs. Not only was Selina moved by these words, but they also brought tears to the show’s guests.
In 2010, a month before her engagement, Selina was involved in a fire accident. Richard Chang (張承中) stayed by her side and insisted on marrying her despite the tragedy. When everyone thought Selina had found her true love, Chang remarked post-marriage that seeing Selina’s thighs made him feel nauseous and openly stated that he would not be intimate with her.
