Management Agency Responds to Disbandment Issues of Girl Group Kep1er

Kep1er, a limited girl group formed through the South Korean audition program “Girls Planet 999,” initially signed a 2.5-year contract, planned to be active until July 2024. Now, with only three months left until the contract expires, there is external interest in whether the collaboration period will be extended. However, Korean media reported today (25th) that all nine members have not renewed their contracts and will disband in July as scheduled.

According to reports, WAKEONE, the company managing the group’s contract, and the original management agencies of each member, were willing to extend Kep1er’s contract. Last year, they even convened a meeting to discuss this, but ultimately no consensus was reached, and it is feared that the group will still disband in July as originally planned.

However, in response to the Korean media reports, WAKEONE stated, “Regarding the extension of Kep1er’s contract, discussions are currently ongoing with the members and their respective agencies. Kep1er is now preparing a new album, aiming to present good music works, and we hope everyone will support them.” This subtly denies the news that their disbandment in July has been confirmed.
