On April 26, the new movie “Gold or Shit,” <走走停停> starring Hu Ge (胡歌) and Gao Yuanyuan (高圓圓), announced its release date of June 8. The film won Best Picture at tonight’s Beijing Film Festival Tiantan Award.
The film depicts Wu Di (played by Hu Ge), a screenwriter in Beijing who has struggled for years without success and decides to return to his hometown after facing setbacks in both his career and personal life.
Back home, Wu Di must navigate rebuilding “intimate relationships” with his family while also searching for a new direction in life, leading to a series of both hilarious and chaotic everyday events.
